There is more work on this coast than one person can do. If you want to learn the trade and take on your own routes, I'd rather train somebody properly than turn jobs down.

It's a trade, not a side hustle.

Two hours a car, most of it on your knees on someone's driveway. Wet sanding is repetitive and it has to be done right — skip a grit and you can see it in the finish. Summer here means doing it in the sun. Rain moves your day.

You're also on a customer's property, or a dealer's lot, representing a name that lives or dies on whether the work holds for a year. That part matters as much as the sanding.

If that reads as a reason not to, this isn't for you, and no hard feelings. If it reads as a normal day's work, keep going.

Not much, honestly.

• A vehicle you can carry the kit in. Everything fits in a trunk.
• Willingness to learn the full process — seven grits, polish, ceramic seal. No shortcuts, because the warranty is real.
• Being able to talk to a lot manager without it being weird. Half this job is walking up to somebody.
• A phone that takes a decent photo. Every car gets documented before and after.

No experience needed. I'll train you on real cars until your work is good enough that I'd put my warranty on it.

Paid per car.

You're paid for each vehicle you complete, and the rate goes up as you get faster and your finish gets more consistent. Dealer work comes in batches, which is where the hours are. Driveway work is steadier and pays better per car.

This is work, not a business you buy. There's nothing to purchase and no fee to join. If you'd rather run something of your own down the road, say so — but that's a conversation, not a pitch, and not something I'm selling today.
